Meet Dr. Tyrone McNichols
Advancing Education Through Leadership and Equity
Dr.
Tyrone (Ty) McNichols has earned an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and an
M.Ed. in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri, St.
Louis. He holds a B.S. in Elementary
Education with a minor in Mathematics Education from Central Missouri State
University.
As
a practitioner for over 30 years, he has served as an elementary and middle
school teacher, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and
adjunct professor. His academic
attention is grounded on social justice as it relates to organizational systems
to enhance the growth and development of professional learning
communities. The outcome of this journey
has yielded increased student achievement, effective program development, and
support for teachers and support staff.
As
a professional and dedicated learner, Dr. McNichols has acquired several
awards, been a member of many education associations, and participated in
various professional development and certification trainings. Some of the
awards achieved are the Holmes Scholar Group/Holmes Network Scholarship, The
St. Louis American Excellence in Education Award, the Iota Phi Lambda Sorority,
Inc. Apple for the Teacher
Award, the Selfless Servant Award,
and the Outstanding Educator for North County Churches, Uniting for Racial
Harmony and Justice Award. These are just a few of his accomplishments and
investments in education.
Dr.
McNichols takes great pride in learning, helping, and sharing his knowledge to
support others in their journey to achieve their ultimate goals.
